High Ankle Sprain
When I was in form (secondary) two and i guess thats roughly equivalent to year 6 or 7, I was playing soccer along the secondary school corridor of my class which was in the second level about a storey high. Somehow i got a bottle of redbull and drank it and subsequently the ball fell off the corridor onto the ground below. Instictively perhaps due to a combination of both adrenaline and caffeine, i jumped off the corridor to fetch it. In my haste, i landed on the ground with only my left foot. The impact caused my left knee to shoot up to my left shoulder as i landed and bruised it. I stood up - still being high and realized my foot gave way.
So on I went without a cast for 2 months. Instead of a trip to the orthopedics, dad gave me a bottle of black traditional chinese medicine. I insisted on the orthopedics, but oh well, what value was a 14 year old's opinion to the egoistical mighty adults of which we now belong to. So i made do with the black chinese goo and my life went on.
Until...
I realized that everyday after the day i did streneous exercise involving heavy foot work (running, basketball, rope jumping), my ankle would hurt like michael jackson performing live infront of you grabbing his crotch and screaming (grab crotch = pain => scream, and still everyone wonders why he screams). Being the sentient and concerned being that I am, i read up on ankle sprains online. I would like to give you my own definition of high ankle sprain, but i believe the professional one by an MD is more relevant to some of my friends who are studying medicine and might find me incoherent.
A high ankle sprain injures the large ligament above the ankle that joins together the two bones of the lower leg. These two bones, the tibia (shin bone) and fibula, run from the knee down to the ankle. They are joined together by this ligament called the "syndesmosis" or "sydesmotic ligament." - Jonathan Cluett, M.D
And according to myself, the ligament above my ankle joining the tibia and the fibula hurts __every__fucking__time__ i play basketball or go hiking. Now i'am not a medical professional, and so i cannot diagnose myself. But the apparent treatment of high ankle sprains is either to cast up your leg for 6 weeks - which is fine and dandy - or to have surgery to insert a sysdesmotic screw into my fibula and tibia - which is OMFG!!
.
.
.
Perhaps i will seek treatment during these few months of idling while waiting for my results and subsequently university. I've always wanted to try those cool walking sticks. I dont remember what they are called - the two aluminium sticks on which you prop yourself up by putting it to your armpit, but they appeal to the infantile-me. I'am also thinking of scantily clad nurses, but we all know that thats simply because i've been reading too much doujinshi. Note that i do not pride myself on reading too much manga or watching too much anime though given , i have read too much manga and watched too much anime but the defining difference is that i do not run around with a naruto metal plate or memorize the jitsu movements that they use or any other little detail.
Till then i'll let you guys know whats up with my left ankle if i do decide to do anything about it.
Comments
the aluminium thingys are called crutches. Bruneians nurses are ugly and overweight. Get your ankled scanned you've probably fractured it. Sprains normally go away over time, but fractures don't.

They should think about porting some actually GOOD Anime Games over to Western Countries, not all this Naruto and Bleach crap. No joke, Japan gets like a new Anime Game every hour, the States only gets 500 Naruto games. IMPORT AWESOMER GAMES OVER!!

It's so annoying having to go through page after page after page, wasting my day away with thousands of webmasters just copying eachother's posts... bah. So, thankyou for the information anyway, much appreciated.
