Snippets of Thought

.. when i make believe myself, a poet.

even though their command of the language is sufficient,
they are unable to read the cultural subtext.

therefore is it not the culture that divides people rather than the language ?

thus people are inherently different based on their respective cultures and upbringing and that there can be no such thing as the homogeneity of men.

or can we supercede humanitys stock and become more ?

the illusion of choice goads us
while the hand of fate moves us

borne of differences,
to die of differences.

where then does the homogenized man stand ?
neither chance nor consequence.

life and death are the only definite things we share in common.

to live humbly on this basic nature;
is that not a great endeavor ?

i affirm the diversity of men
and reject the homogenized man.

neither chance nor consequence

For where is his will ?
where is that instrument of thought that translates banter into conviction.

without which he is
no longer human;
perhaps a thinking machine.
something more yet something less.

itself an instrument to a higher will;
but of gods or of men ?

alas, both fall short.

an odd paradox.

~

i dreamed a dream of which i was dreaming
and when i woke up,
i was not sure if i was dreaming or awake.

i looked to the left and saw myself
i looked to the right and lost myself.
in between i found myself.
in the end i regained myself

... but was i dreaming or awake ?

to dream a dream
to live a life.
to dream a living dream
and to live a dreaming life.

is there a difference ?

no.

to dream is to live
and to live is to dream.

a conundrum

Brunei Videos

I was bored and a bit homesick so i decided to search up Brunei in youtube.

After the usual bunch of teenagers trying to do melbourne shuffles and typical tourist vids of local ceremonies and stuff i chanced upon this.

... which was just so awesome.

Raymond even does it in malay.

Lovely !

Heres his youtube user profile where he has alot more videos.

The simple Bruneian life, peaceful with lush tropical rainforests and beaches and no political or racial shit happening. Petrol only costs 53cents a litre (about 50AUD or 0.60 USD). No wonder angmos love it.

I'll choose Brunei over Malaysia or Singapore anytime.
